1.0 INTRODUCTION
The main function of Training Division is training and consultancy. Currently, the Division has 700 students who are undertaking higher diploma, diploma and certificate courses in various disciplines. In addition, the Division conducts short courses.

1.1 Water and Wastewater Department
The main function of the Water and Wastewater Department is to train professional and sub-professional cadres to plan, design, construct, operate, maintain, and manage water supply, wastewater, and irrigation & drainage systems. Other functions carried out by the Department involve research, consultancy, repair, servicing and fabrication of Mechanical items.
1.2 Water Resources and Environmental Management Department
The Department offers training in three key areas, namely Surface Water and Ground Water Resources, Water Quality and Environmental Management. In addition, it offers water quality analyses on request at a fee. The Department has a Percussion Rig for training and consultancy services in drilling.
1.3 Management and Information Technology Department
The Management and Information Technology Department delivers comprehensive training in Management, Computer Applications, Programming, and Technical Networking. The IT Section within the department provides support to the entire institute on computer maintenance, repair, software installation, and overall IT administration
1.4 Short Courses and Consultancy Services Department
The Department coordinates short courses and consultancy services in water related disciplines. The services offered are demand driven and geared towards addressing and solving specific and emerging challenges.
1.5 Department of Student’s Affairs
The Department complements the efforts of other departments in the provision of quality training by enhancing quality and beneficial behaviour. This is done mainly through dialogue, guidance and counseling, peer mentoring, role modeling and discipline. The Department takes care of student’s physical, spiritual as well as psychological well being through meaningful and beneficial interactions meant to mentor them into the world.
